ZAYAH is a portal to another realm. An artistic exploration of the cycles of life, death and rebirth.
In this collaborative film project, Negin Sairafi seeks to create a series of audio/visual meditations which incorporate experimental movement, performance and choreographed dance to explore the themes of ritual, ceremony, attachment, struggle, awakening and liberation. The scenes and vignettes are intended to invite, captivate, and provoke audiences to connect more deeply to the conscious and subconscious aspects of their being and in turn to their shared human condition.
ZAYAH invites the audience to interpret their visceral response to each scene in alignment with their worldviews and lived experiences. In this way, ZAYAH’s narrative is co-created, a collaboration between the artists and the audience.
ZAYAH exists in the space where art and expression meet healing, as such, it is a deeply personal and intimate unfolding of the themes we navigate as humans.
ZAYAH means hope and faith in Arabic.
